Nikko’s predecessor organization, Koshitsu Toki Company, began manufacturing semi-porcelain dinnerware in Japan in 1905, the first company in Japan to do so. World War II’s devastation almost put an end to the company, but like so many Japanese manufacturers, it rebuilt and emerged a stronger organization with modern plants, equipment and processes. By the mid 1960s, no longer solely dependent on semi-porcelain, the company produced fine bone china, fine vitrified china, fine porcelain and ovenware. The company changed its name to Nikko in 1983. The quality of its products, variety and beauty of its designs and patterns and affordable pricing make Nikko one of our most popular brands.
