Remarkable for its detail and ambitious in its scope, each piece in the range lovingly depicts a completely different British scene held together gracefully by surrounding borders of leafy scrolls, and floral bouquets straight from the English countryside itself. Old Britain Castles Pink is a beautiful way to hold on to a sense of our past.
Based on drawings from 1928, this pattern originally required a team of about 10 engravers to complete the approximately 40 engravings that aborned the original dinnerware and serving pieces that were issued in 1930. Today, Johnson Brothers offers the heart of the collection in rosy pink tones on classic shapes with a gentle suggestion of scalloping along the edges.
