Since the early 19th Century, the practice of building snowmen has been a winter favorite for children of all ages. The artisans of Waterford have captured the joyful innocence of the beloved seasonal companion with this finely carved snowman, the second of five editions of the Christmas Wonders Collection.
The 2006 Special Limited Edition Series was: Saint Nicholas.
The beloved poem "A Vist from St. Nicholas" written by Clement Clarke Moore and enhanced by political cartoonist Thomas Nast's drawing of a round, cheery, white-bearded, red-suited "Jolly Old St. Nick" with a sack of toys, elves, and Mrs. Claus gave Americans their image of the famed North Pole resident. The artisans at Waterford Crystal have captured Santa Claus and his personification of the magic and the wonders of the season with a finely etched crystal "St. Nicholas", the first of five editions of the Christmas Wonders Collection.
