Tronada is Spanish for tornado, which is suggested by the textured pattern of lines that encircle the pieces' rims and outside surfaces. A time-consuming technique - meticulous scratching through the raw colored glazes prior to firing - exposes the natural stoneware body through the black and creamy white glaze applications that define the two colorways, Noche and Crema.
