All Vietri china is handmade by skilled Italian craftsmen utilizing the same techniques handed down through generations of artisans. Whether mouth-blown glass, hand-painted ceramics, hand-turned earthenware, or hand-carved wood, Vietri stoneware products have been touched by many skilled hands. This handmade, hand-crafted feature is what makes Vietri pottery both unique and desirable.
Most Vietri pieces may be washed in the dishwasher on the low energy/air dry cycle; however, handwashing will prolong the beauty of Vietri china. Bakeware can be used in most conventional ovens and dishwashers. They are handmade of very dense clay and fired at extremely high temperatures, making them heat resistant to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Some Vietri baking accessories can also be used in the microwave oven and are marked with a sticker; all other pieces are not recomended for the microwave. Since Vietri earthenware is porous, it expands and contracts with extreme heat and extreme cold.
