In this large sculpture, the major focus is on the human body. The difference between this piece and other nudes in the Lladr catalogue lies in the setting in or by the sea. Oblivious to her surroundings, and with a long scarf as her only clothing, a beautiful girl listens to the sound of the waves from a large seashell. Both the decoration of the rock, where one can appreciate the various nuances and hues of the algae, and the scarf blowing in the breeze suggest that the scene takes place by the sea. What makes this piece truly remarkable is unquestionably the excellent modeling work, capturing to perfection the shapes and volumes of the female anatomy in the image of a young woman of exotic beauty.
Worth noting in this work is the natural realism of the skin, achieved thanks to the warmth of gres. The texture of the skin contrasts with the surface of the stone, in which the effect of the sea rock is achieved by applying enamels of various colors which, after firing in the kiln, take on various tones. Also noteworthy is the realism of the conch which faithfully reproduces those found in nature, both in texture and in decoration.
