Maneki Neko means beckoning or welcoming cat, and has different meanings depending on the raised paw:
If it beckons with its right paw it is believed to bring prosperity and money, this one is supposed to be a male. The kanji characters on the medallion or coin read "good luck in work/profession". White, means purity and is the basic color for Maneki Neko.
If it beckons with both paws it is called "Banzai Maneki neko" (Banzai means both hands up in Japanese). This is supposed to bring both customers and money and it protects the home or premises. The blue color is said to bring improvement in studies and safety in transportations.
If it beckons with its left paw, it attracts people so this is often used in shops to attract customers, this one is supposed to be a female. The kanjis on the medallion read "welcoming and happy". The pink color has a meaning of love.
Each one of the 3 pieces is sold separately, though there is an optional stand for arranging three pieces.
