The red-crowned crane is one of the largest and most beautiful birds in the world. Unfortunately , the species is in danger of extinction and Lladro wished to pay it tribute with these two pieces. Worth mentioning in both compositions are the stylized necks and slender legs. Another notable quality is the harmony of the features shared by the two pieces, captured in different poses, wisely combined by the sculptor to create an elegant, balanced whole.
Classic porcelain. The colors of the decoration were carefully selected to remain faithful to the real coloring of the bird. Paint paste, whose density makes it a complex technique to apply, was used for the red crown. Different enamels were used for the ground and vegetation to imitate the marshy areas where these birds live.
