The Swan and Trumpet is THE PUB, one of the go to pieces in Dickens Village for 2016. The title is inspired by The Seven Swans of the Twelve Days tradition. Trumpet from trumpeter swans. Like many pubs, the hanging sign uses symbols, a swan and trumpet to attract traffic, for those who couldn't read words. This is also a great addition to the Gaslight Pub series of Dickens' Village.
Check the details: Large bright windows cast a welcoming glow to the front, inviting visitors inside for a warm meal filled with good cheer. Downspouts were found on the only the finer the buildings during the early 1800s, a sign of prosperity. Red velvet curtains in the upper story prove that nice quarters are available for overnight travelers. Holiday decorations, including wreaths and ribbon wrapped garlands adorn the first and second stories. The Tudor styling of the large timbered eves suggests that this Inn was quite historic, perhaps hundreds of years old during the time of Dickens'. Interesting half shutters on several windows offer both protection and light into the rooms behind.
