When I was a girl, my mom had an amazing solid gold charm bracelet. My dad bought the
original linked bracelet and the first charm and added to her collection over the years. By the time I was old enough to notice – and admire – her uniquely personal work of art, the bracelet was complete. Each charm has a special meaning. She had a locket with a picture of my dad & herself, a delicate filigree happy birthday charm, one with the silhouette of a girl with my name on it (my favorite!), a beautifully crafted yet simple horseshoe to signify both good luck & her love of horses, and many more. Many times I thoroughly examined my mom’s bracelet. The birthday charm was dented in the middle. Why? She’d accidentally closed it in a drawer, she said sadly. I thought it gave her treasure character. No one else, to my knowledge, had a formerly-puffy-now-concave-in-the-middle solid gold charm that read Happy Birthday in cursive. I loved that piece of jewelry & couldn’t understand why my mom didn’t wear it every day. While I know someday it will be mine, I didn’t & don’t covet her bracelet. It represents my mom & her life, not mine. It’s special & fascinating but doesn’t & won’t belong to be. Besides – and here’s why she doesn’t wear it more often – it”s a bit clunky and is a bit like a collar with a bell. You can hear her coming from 20 feet away. Actually, I think one of the charms is a bell. A cute one, but somewhat noisy. In fact, the whole bracelet clanks & slides up & down on her wrist. It’s gorgeous, but wearing it would drive me crazy. (Sorry, Dad.)
Fast forward to 2012.
The classic charm bracelet has retained its original appeal though in a lower-profile, up-to-date way. You can still express yourself in a way that’s uniquely yours. Crafted of sterling silver, 14k gold, sparkling Swarovski® crystal, colored stones and Italian Murano glass, Chamilia reflects your interests, your life, your experiences & your personal style. Here’s how to start – choose a Chamilia bracelet, necklace or earrings, and then select your favorite beads or charms. Mix and match or pick a theme. Some of our most popular collections are the Chamila family beads, the Chamilia beach beads, and the Chamilia Christmas Charms. Add a dash of color with Swarovski® and colored stones beads or with some Murano glass. A good method to measure your wrist is to use an existing bracelet that allows you to put two fingers between the bracelet and your rest. This will leave enough room to adorn your bracelet with charms. Alternatively, you can wrap a piece of string around your wrist, allowing enough room to place two fingers between the string and your wrist, and measure the length of the string. We even carry lengths small enough for young girls. Take a look at our complete bracelets if you’re in need of inspiration. Connect with your desire to be classic. Your personal sense of style shines through with Chamilia jewelry.
